    best place for wetsuit etc?

Right, I'm looking into getting a cheap wetsuit (& possibly a rash vest) for the summer, as a mate has persuaded me to go with him when he goes windsurfing (he goes regularly as his dad owns a team or something).

now, besides not wanting to look like a complete idiot (which I will when I fall in the water every 5 minutes) the only thing I know is I would probably be best with a "shortie" type, and wouldn't need anything thicker than about 3-4mm as we're not going anywhere colder than a reservoir or perhaps the lovely and warm north sea

I've seen a few places do Osprey wetsuits for around £25, and rash vests IRO £10. is this a decent price?

or would a 2nd hand suit be cheaper and would i get away with it?

not looking for anything much more than to just get me through the summer. hopefully will have a new job by next year so unfortunately () I probably won't have time then...

    any help appreciated

dunno if theres one near u but our local Sainsbury's of all places now stocks wetsuits and loads of outdoor gear....

Aint seen the prices but they look "cheap n cheerful" so Im guessing they're gonna be a decent price

Make sure you know the difference between wet and dry suits. Wetsuits let the water in to keep you warm, sure surprised me when i got one as a kid and went in the sea

yeah have had a bit of a rundown from my mate, wetsuits trap a layer of water between you and the suit, which heats up to body temp and insulates you from the cold... thats the limit of my expansive knowledge on the subject though
