    undecided what is the diff between a chip and remapping what is the best . i have a 2.2 astra 02 plate ,ram air filter,pre cat removed but until u hit 3000 rpm it is crap.HELP

    A 'chip' is what it says - a physical chip placed into an ECU controlling how the car performs, this is only normally done on older cars.

    Newer cars are remapped. This is where a programmer writes a new map, that overwrites the original map on the ECU. Much better than chipping as the ECU doesn't need to be opened and fiddled with.

    Both do the same thing, just 2 different methods of doing it. Don't think chipping takes place much these days.

    any 1 got any idea how i can knok off my traction control there is no switch in the car but it has defo got it

    post a thread in the classified section or just browse the ads instead of just asking everything in this one thread.

    As has already been said, remap is the best way forward on modern engines - less hassle etc....
