Thumbs Down Megs booster wax appears to be crap

Been using Meguiars booster spray wax for a while now, car looks great when its first applied, but I've been having real problems with holograming. It appears the booster wax is very soft, a week after waxing, I wash the car and get loads of holograming

rubbed the paint with my hand quite hard cos I had the arse and the wax was coming off leaving a reasonably swirl free finish.

After a bit of effort with paint cleaner, I've found Colour Magic gave an absolutely perfect finish Never thought I'd see myself using that stuff

The booster (NXT) spray wax should be sprayed on and wiped off straight away with very light pressure for best results, is this what you are doing? Using heavy pressure with the uneven layer spray wax produces will heat up the body work and cause.... you guessed it! Hologramming.

Its a posh word for smear...

And colour magic is horrible for your paint surely, its ok if thats all you have but I would have thought AGSRP and a bit of Megs NXT Wax would be better.

    No it isn't a 'smear'...

It is where the polish/wax/etc is burnt into the clear laquer layer of the paintwork through to heavy pressure upon application, or prolonged use of a machine polisher on one area.

I only had the 'effect' of holograming, the actual paint surface is pretty good. It seems the booster wax doesn't form a very hard coat, looks great just after initial application, its the wash a week later that puts light swirls into the wax coat, and its that wax coat that I could rub away with my hand, kind of came away like dead skin.

I'm washing with megs shampoo, wash mit, then drying with Sonus drying towel, so nothing harsh

To get rid of these swirls I tried megs stage 1 to clean of that shat wax, then stage 2 - didn't work, AGSRP - didn't work, finally settled on colour magic - last resort, but worked amazingly well.

Gonna stick to just using the Poorboys paste wax blue, bit more effort but longer lasting

Are you using the two bucket method, and using grit guards in the bottom of the buckets?

Also remember that you won't completely remove the swirls unless you start machine polishing, polishing/wax/sealing etc just covers them up!
