let me rephrase my question, since there is an available rotor disc for the rear breaks (Black Diamond, EBC...) it is safe to assume that there is a rotor disc break for MK4 cars.

What are the year models that the rear disc is already stock. Maybe, just maybe those parts of that yr model will be appilcable to convert my 1.6v 16v sedan to have a rotor disc too. Pls advise if you know or if you have those disc breaks in your rear.

    looking forward to anybody's reply.

    cheers!

to fit rear discs i BELEAVE you need the hubs from a four stud sxi/sport or an ex police car, try ringing some where like vauxhall perfomance spares centre.

He's in the Phillipines, bit far for him to find an ex-Police car.

You need the rear axle from an early (1998/1999) 1.8 Sport, which will give you 4-stud rear discs.

    Astra Dan and ZS,

Thanks for your advise. F-UP question, would you have an idea if VAXHAULL still sell those old parts?! and approx how much are the total costs? I highly dought if LMF carries those items.

    Cheers!

spoke with an underchassis expert recently and he said it is easier said than done in changing the rear drum brakes to rotor disc brakes. even if you have the correct rear rotor disc and calipers for the rear breaks you need several other parts to change it. The parts and the labor will be so expensive that they would not even recommonding doing it.

Is there anybody out there in the whole UK who changed their 1.6L Astra G rear drum breaks into disc breaks?!

If there are none, then the comments of the underchassis specialist in our place tends to be true!
