AC not working after changing headgasket

Hi all, I came across this forum while looking for a wiring diagram I hope you guys can help.

I bought a mk4 Astra 1.7DTI Y17DT(after my Astra mk3 got smashed) with oil in water mixing. We changed the oil cooler but no change, so last week started on changing the head gasket (my dads a mechanic). Finally finished on Saturday and its cured the problem, but now my ac doesnt work!

Ive checked all the fuses and the wiring loom that goes from the ac motor to the junction box under the radiator. The ac light comes on but the clutch doesnt engage at all. The ac was fine before i did the head. I guess its a cable somewhere not plugged in. Are there any ac sensors maybe unplugged?

Any help will be much appreciated.

    DG

have u checked you have gas in the system? u might have undone one of the AC hoses by mistake and lost the refrigirant gas, or possibly snagged a hose?

if you follow the pipework from the condensor you should find some valves for filling the system, check there is gas in there by pressing one of them open for a second....

my problem is similar, aircon doesnt work, but it has put the engine coolant light on the dash, the aircon compressor isnt starting.

a guy looked at it and said their could be a blockage?

dont think it has anything to do with the head gasket (i hope) as the temp sits nicely below 90.

the engine Cooling ECU controls the fans and the AC compressor.

If that light is on there is a fault.

Hi guys, i been on holiday.

I had it checked out on tech2 and no errors. Ive also had the ecu updated (not remapped). There are no warning lights on the dash.

A mechanic reckons there is a reset switch along the ac wiring loom somewhere. Every heard of this?

My backs gone Ill try and trace the wire route and see if i can find this thing.
