    Can a flipdown DVD player be fitted to an Astra mk5 in the ROOF unit

    hi guys

    new to the site

    just want info on if a flipdown dvd player can be fitted to my mk5 astra. I want to purchase a flipdown but i want to put it in the unit on the roof

    can this be done ???

    as far as i am aware, yes you can, all you do is measure up the size of the roof compartment and get one that will fit.

    There will be like a plastic rim round that and the a metal one round that, i would suggest getting rid of the plastic rim and beefing up the metal one to support any weight.
    Connection cables will just run down the pillars at the front of the car.

    Its been done, and imo could look factory if done right. Cabling could be an issue if you have Airbags in the A Pillars, but with some car it shouldn't be a problem.
