    is this safe?

i think my coilpack/MAF is up the creek. someone with their car working etc has offered for me to try both of them to see if this resolves my problems!

is it safe to use theirs on my car? i dont wanna break theirs!

i presume the only damage i could do is if i put my broken ones on his?!

lets hope that they have some effect on mine...now its in limp mode..by fitting these..and that being the problem..will it just bring itself out of limp mode or does it need to be plugged in?

You'll need to disconnect the battery for 20-30 mins and then fire it up. Let it idle, take for a quick spin. If the light comes on then its still buggered if it don't take it for a fast spin. If its still off its back to normal.

Or you could take it to a local mechanic which will charge you about £20 to retrieve the code. Come here and tell me the code and I'll tell you what could be up!

Have you tried leaving the battery terminals off for 30 mins to clear the error and see if it re-appears?
