The veccy C mod is just the pipe and adapter that goes above the radiator

I really never understood why Vauxhall fitted this ridiculous setup on the X16SZR - it did nothing but confuse owners! lol

Anyway its a common question from early 8v mk4 owners who ask what the hell is this wire/hose etc?

Basically the hose from the exhaust manifold to the intake is a warm air feed that aids cold starts - warm air enters the intake system to speed up cold start performance...... from a performance perspective its a bad idea as we need cold dense air and not warm air from the exhaust.

The thin pipe ur referring to is a vacuum pipe and once the original 8v intake has been removed - youve got 2 options.
Either block up this end of the pipe - a small self tapper is ideal - or remove the pipe from the TB side and block up the take off at that end. (This is what Ive done on mine)

You'll also need to remove the warm air feed from the exhaust mani heatshield - dont worry - it serves no purpose.

So basically remove every single aspect of the original setup - fit the new Vectra C intake & adaptor to airbox and as long as u block off the vacuum hose ur sorted....END OF!

If ur still a tad confused check out this thread from a few wks ago from another concerned X16SZR owner....it may offer a little insight.

If ur still confused - then let me know - this engine appears to have become my specialised subject by default lol
