How much did the manifold cost?

Steel rods would be about R4000 + delivery from here pistons noone makes them "off the shelf" you'd have to go custom. That works out about R1800 per piston.

So around R12000-13000 shipped from the UK.

Standard z18xer rods and pistons will do the job you want I expect.

In your engine they give 11.7 CR, and have 2mm cutouts. They are only 242g. They are available 80.5mm or 81mm from opel parts dealers.

The rods are much stronger (although not forged) and have a larger 19mm free floating pin.

The cost is about R2600 for the rods, and around R1080 per piston,so R7000 in all + postage. Sadly noone makes conrods for these 19mm pistons though the standard ones should be OK if shotpeened for the revs you want (in short bursts).

@ MarkyG Thanks so much for the response...are you S.A

yep they off the 4age silvertop

the mani adaptor cost me R2000..was a once off from rolands manifold in C.T

The 11,7:1 CP ratio is a bit too high.. race fuel is very difficult to come by...also the car is a daily drive and drag/track regular

i would be keen on the steel rods @R4000-00 do you have more info on them (H beam, type, manufacturer etc) pls let me know

    Thnaks again
