    Opel or Vauxhall?

What are peoples reason for changing the badges on the cars from vauxhall to opel?

I much prefer the OPEL badges but can you change whats on the V5 certificate aswell?

People just want to be different IMO. I like the Opel badges (and the Holden/Saturn ones too) but considering the cars are only badged Vauxhall in the UK it takes the "exclusivity" away a little IMO

As for changing the V5, why would you want to? ATEOTD you wouldn't change the v5 from "1.6 Envoy" to "1.6 GSi Lookalike" just because you added a GSi bodykit people will still know its a vauxhall astra even if it wears Opel badges

No you cannot change the V5...it states the manufacturer, ie Vauxhall in your case.

a lot of our vauxhall's are Opel.my mate worked for a garage a few years back and the amount of vauxhall badges he fitted to opels was crazy.
theres more opels in my town than vauxhall i reckon

Because you preffer the look of th opel badge?
Because you want your car to look a little different?
Because it's a very cheap "mod"?
Because it gets people guessing as to what the car is?

    ..need I go on?

    You can't change the V5.

A few years back, one of the large car supermarkets in Cannock (there are several) was importing cheap, low spec, rhd Opels and re-badging them as Vauxhall. They were prosecuted under Trades Description Act.

In any case, a legitimate Opel would have far less value, in the UK, than it's equivalent Vauxhall.
