    insurance renewal

well after being with liverpool victora in 2006 and in july of that year i changed to flux due to them having the best deal. now in 2007 the flux renewal comes through at a whopping 590 with a 6000k mileage limit all mods declared......................so my first call was back to greenlight (whom i was insured with 3 years previoulsy) and they quoted me a nice 490 all mods declared with no mileage limit. - guess where my moneys going this year

nice how one year you seem to have a lower quote than everybody else is offering........then the next year on the renewal they sting you to compensate - personnally id like to see my insurance go down every year if i was to stay with the same company but a hundred pounds difference is just mindboggling imo

No loyalty to customers these days, the insurers know full well that a large amount of people will stay with the same company year in year out without even getting quotes from elsewhere so they hike up the price. If you then went back to your company and said that whoever had quoted this much, 9 times out of 10 they'd be able to match it.

If your a member on www.astraownersnetwork.co.uk you get discount with Chris Knott insurence ( http://forum.astraownersnetwork.co.u...ad.php?t=23384 ) They are now starting to target more and more car clubs as they have finally realsied that 90% of modded car owners look after their cars more than Joe blogs in the street.

We are more likly to park in a more secure place, have better security fitted and not want to damge our cars.

Give them a ring and see if they can sort you out.

Laura's renewal came through for her Astra and HIC wanted over £500 fully comp with all the mods but Chris Knott did it for £219 fully comp with all mods declared (like for like policy with HIC)

Yeah we tried them to and with the AOC discount it was £276 so loads better but still not as cheap. Chris Knots price was a quote without Laura telling them what quotes she had had before so it wasnt as if he was trying to beat a price.

Maybe Adrian Flux/HIC could have matched Chris Knotts price but they should have given their best price to start with. Like has been said above....Insurance companys seem to not care come to renewal time. If my renewal was a good price from the outset I would stay with them, but if it takes me ringing round then me telling them I wont be going with them because hey are to dear then they tell me 'Oh we can match that' why not just give me that price to start with.

We are allways moaning about companys getting as much money out of you as possibe but just seem to accept that 'thats what insurance companys do'

Am I the only one who thinks that this "slight" increase in insurance could be due to the thousands of cars that have been written off with all the floods lately. At the end of the day, SOMEONE has to pay out for all those cars, and that someone is US, by insurance companys upping their quotes to cover for this extra cost.

Insurance groups, location and personal details are one part of the story but theres also other factors that affect quotes. For instance many years ago when Escort Cossie's were stolen and written off ever 5 mins, the insurance premiums went through the roof compared to many other cars of the same insurance group.

All this about loyalty, sorry but each company has to earn some kinda profit. I was quoted over £5000 by some insurance companys, this is their way of saying "We're quoting you, but we dont want you as you're too high of a risk". At least Adrian Flux and whoever else is willing to quote you a "sensible" price.
