    Thumbs Up Petrol Drinking !!!

    hi, i've got a 1.6 16v sxi, and as the title explains, it seems to be drinkin petrol like its goin out of fashion. it could jus be my imagination because my previous car was 1.0 corsa but it doesnt seem like im getting my standard mpg's worth. anyone else have this prob or can anyone suggest a few reasons?

    i have the exact same problem and mine only drinks v power but then again its a subaru so cant complain

    ooh. rite.. spose it could be my drivin style as i can be a little heavy footed at times! lol any other more possibilities?

    Being cold can do it. My 1.6 16v has a great quirk. It doesn't pull the choke in until its warm and I pull over and stop for about 10 seconds. If you drive constantly without stopping at traffic lights ect, then you'll gobble fuel. I can be heavy foot 9 times out of 10 but you have to adjust your driving style to suit.

    what mpg are you currently getting? going from a 1.0 to a 1.6 would seem worse than it probably is

    Does your astra have MPG info on the display?
