What chance a diesel VXR Sport Hatch

Just changed from a 1.8 petrol Sport Hatch to a 150 diesel model and am hughly impressed with the drive.

However, had my first opportunity to have a close look and sit in a VXR when at the dealers to get an Ipod cradle installed and was blown away with the look and feel of it all.

Got me thinking that in these times of diesels with tuning boxes hitting 190/200 ps, surely there's a market for a full blown diesel VXR model to sit alongside the petrol derivative ?

There is going to be a diesel vxr range just unfortunatly not in the astra, it's going to be Zafira and Vectra only.

    Have a read of this:

I'm sure there will be at some point. Diesel is very much the way that everything is going. In a few years time petrol engines will be very much the minority. There are just too many advantages in going diesel.

You just wait and see! I bet a few years ago you never expected diesel cars to dominate Le Man24 for example!

Diesel engines have come on a long way in the last 10 years, to the point where petrol engines now hold few (if any) advantages. Have you driven a recent diesel? If not, I think you'd be very surprised!

Seems the Audi win was perhaps a little dubious, give us another shout when F1 starts using Derv, dont hold your breath though.

Sure that in time diesels will be banned as they are the biggest contributor to asthma and many breathing problems and cancers. Those of you that drive diesels think of that the next time you start up your diesel and your kids get to sample the air in your garden

Isnt there some blue additive thing on new trucks that helps clean the gasses on new Diesels. I think Mercedes are doing it?
