thinking of getting the VXR air intake pipe

I was looking on ebay the other day and I am now thinking of getting a VXR air intake pipe as a small mod for my astra.
Does anyone know if they are any good? and are they easy enough to swap?

Any help would be appreciated please

You can use the VXR intake it will be larger than the current one you have and should fit together perfectly. However there is an even larger intake you can add on. The Vectra C Diesel air intake. It has a larger intake diameter than the VXR one and with an adapter pipe (available from Vauxhall) will fit onto your current airbox.

You can buy the parts from Vauxhall saving shipping and money usually.

Is £25 a good price for the VXR pipe?

IMO you'd be better off with the VXR pipe - it's only marginally smaller than the Vectra C one, but it was designed from the outset to fit the Mk5, so it will fit perfectly.

The Vectra pipe was obviously designed for a Vectra and fitting it to any Astra will always be less than perfect (even tho it is better than the OE one)

so is the price reasonable or is it a bit much for the VXR pipe?

Ring your local Vauxhall dealer - quote the above VXR part numbers and that will answer your question!

Personally Id say its a tad pricey - The Vectra parts come in at approx £13 for both items so can't see the VXR ones costing alomost twice that for what is virtually the same part...Remember that a lof of ebay sellers trick u into thinking ur getting a bargain when more often than not the dealers are substantially cheaper
