    shell bearings

    how easy are they to do on a mk3 95 astra?
    can u get there threw the sump or do u have to take the engine out?

    I'm assuming you nean main bearing shells?

    If so, you need to get the sump and gear box off to get the crank out if you'ree doing it in the car, plus you'd be working against gravity

    TBh it's easier to get the engine on a bench

    umm why do you want to change the bearings without inspecting the crank etc....
    If they have "worn" then you need the crank out to get it checked/polished or ground.... if you just "fancy" doing it then its a waste of time really.
