Just bought a 1.7 sportive.. need help!

    Hi all,

Just got myself a 1.7DTi Sportive, all seemed good when i had a little blast last night after buying her. Although when i drove to work this morning the service light took ages to turn off, it was loosing power and it was judderring a bit. It got better towards the end of the journey, but have i been done over?

Its got 103k on the clock and loking at the service booklet its time for a service. Will a service cure her or do i need to ring up the guy i bought it off?

    Cheers, Nick.

Probably the boost solenoid on the blink. Get the fault read and it'll confirm, any garage will be fit to read the codes if the van is younger than 2002.

If it is the solenoid, they're about £28 and take about 5 minutes to change.

Depending when it's built, you may need to get the codes read by a Tech2. Diesels only support OBDII from 2002 which rules out most of the normal "Snap-On" type readers.
