    Convertible Advise...

I posted earlier about my new car...

    http://public.fotki.com/B4RVO/astra-22-convertible/

I think the car is going to need the hood doing when I collect the car or soon after and wondered what other people use? I been reading reveiws online and this has been highly reccomended, but also been told the Autoglym Cabriolet Fabric Hood Cleaning Kit is good. Whats the verdict on here??

    http://www.elkparts.com/product_info...a623f1d3173620

    Next... ICE.

Was thinking of getting DVD/TV ALPINE-IVA-D105R and INFINITY-BASSLINK-T-system-PC4-27 but not sure this will be right for the car, being an open top.

Or just upgrade the headunit to something like PIONEER-DEH-P85BT...?!

Thanks for any help that is given,

    Paul

    hello mate,

I have an o3 cab and the roof was starting to look a little dirty and old.

Bought the auto glym roof cleaner from halfords (£25 i think) its bit pricey as you only get enough for one application, but bloody hell did it do a good job. Really work the cleaner into the fabric with the applicator (it doesnt damage the mohair) and it will look like a new roof! Just make sure you apply the second bottle (cant remember what its called but it seals) straight after as this helps with the roof being water proof etc.

As for ice i have a dvd player in may car and visibility with a drop top on it is fine, has brightness settings and an anti glare screen so top notch. Speaker/sub wise the standard speakers are great upto a certain point, only just looking at replacing mine because i blew them (thought the song was quiet so turned the volume right up, turns out was gap between songs pop went speakers)

Sub wise i have an 8" installed in the ski hatch so its facing the car, have moved it around the boot but cant get a decent sound in the car unless the boot is open, dont understand why.

Hope it helps mate and get some nore pics on here once its all cleaned up

As for the cleaning stuff the stuff I use came from Halfrauds, I believe its Turtlewax and came in a box. Is effectively 1 bottle of shampoo and 1 of conditioner. Brings the roof up a treat - think it was about £15, not bad and lasts quite a long time too as is in spray bottles.

For ice I have an in dash dvd player / screen and visibility is fine, just alter the angle and the colour settings if using with the roof down.
I have a 10 inch sub fitted in the ski hatch so it faces in to the car and I get some good bass from it, am very impressed didnt think I'd be able to get good sound being a cab but works well.
My rear speakers have been uprated with focals of the same size and the fronts have been uprated with focal 3 ways, with 2 speakers in custom door pods and the tweeters up in the mirrors - all in all gives off a good sound.
    See pics below.

AG is the way to go for sure. Some stunning turn arounds using this product. But use the sealer and plenty of it to make sure your roof is as water proof as ever. This is very important!
    Its a jam thing
