    Oil Temp Gauge

I recently received an autogauge brand oil temp gauge the range is 0-150 celcius, but I was wondering how I fit the sensor that I recieved with? It has a thread on it nearly sure it's an M10 thread. Anyway suggestions on hot to fit it and where greatly appreciated or if you know of any better sensors shout away, cheers

The thread looks more like 1/8 NPT, which is the usual thread for senders. No idea where you'd fit it on a zlet tho, but you will need an adaptor of some sort

What's an adaptor? Does it hold the sender in position? Would somewhere on the sump suffice? (obviously I would'nt just drill it on)

    What engine is it for?

You could put it into the sump but that would be a very accurate reading of oil temperature IMO.

You could use a sandwich plate or you could get a precision engineer to drill an existing oil gallery bolt to take the sender.

    these are adaptors...

you screw the sender in to make it the correct size thread. you can get drilled/tapped sump plugs to mount the sender directly into the oil (via the sump plug), but it's not a good idea to use this if the sump plug is on the bottom of the sump, as it stands a chance of getting ripped off

I was checking up and a few of the oil temp adaptors that i've seen for other cars are called sandwich plate and involve removeing the oil filter screwing on the sender, pluging the spare ports on it and then screwing back on the oil filter. Is that the same with an astra?

Yes. I have a S/W plate on mine but have a search for mattcoupturbo to see how he has done it.
