the door switch is in the head light switch. Basically when you push it in the interior lights come on. Touch it again or pull it toward you and it should extinguish them. Common mistake my missus made me phone Vauxhall who told me. Its in the manual BTW. Which Vauxhall told me
    Its a jam thing

Is that on a Mk5? Only my headlight switch doesn't push or pull and the interior light switches are on the roof. Also the manual doesn't mention anything about it.

The door switch I was on about are located in the door pillars and tell the lights when the doors are opened and closed - they are a common fault on Vectras.

The front interior light on the Mk5 is controlled by the centre switch in the overhead console. When the doors are closed press once to turn it on and press again to turn it off. The rear lights have individual switches built into them with position 0 - off, position 1 - on, and inthe middle for on when doors are opened. If all switches are in the auto or correct positions (ie: operate the lights on when the door is open and turn light out when door is closed) and the lights remain on when the door is closed then I would suspect that one of the door switches has gone to earth or the wiring is damaged
