Looking for a rotary polisher? Try places like Screwfix Direct - ensure you get a tool with soft start and electronic speed control for ease of use, and a good speed range of speeds (max lowest speed of 1000rpm, min highest speed of 2000rpm if that makes sense).

The Metabo from Clean & Shiny is a very good tool. I prefer the Makita 9227CB from Screwfix (or many other tool stores).

Silverline will do the job, but I have heard a lot of reports of regular users of the tool needing to call on the 3 year warranty....

Is this just the same sort of thing as the porter cable or do you have to be more of an expert to use this without damaging your paitwork

No this is a rotary, PC is a random orbital!
PC is much better for a beginner, rotary can mark/burn paint very easily!
