Cleaning My Astra In and Out. Bit of advice needed

I purchased my Astra over the weekend,I've got the day off tomorrow so I thought I would give it a good clean and polish inside and out. It's flame red so outside on the painwork I was thinking of doing the following:

Hose car down to get most grit off
    Wash thoroughly
    Dry
    Apply AG SRP
    Then Apply AG EGP
    Then polish black trim

    Then go for the inside.

Now is there anything I have missed?

I'm going to Halfords to get all the goodies needed tomorrow. What cloths/ applicator pads etc. should I get and how many (ie. should I be using a seperate pad for SRP and EGP)? Are the Halfords own brand cloths any good?

A shopping list would be very good to hand. Any advice is much appreciated.

I got the turtle wax gel for the tyres and it's really really good. Haven't used any as good since my Dad used to work for Vauxhall.

As per my thread, I use pretty much the same as you on my flame red mk 4, but I used T-cut red colour fast as the paint was just beginning to fade, it has worked wonders on it

Looks a good list there mate, the Autoglym pair are (despite what it sometimes said about them...) excellent and will deliver a durable and nice looking finish.

Clay would be what I woud add to the list to get rid of bonded contaminants like tree sap or fallout, and this will allow better results from the polishing stage with the SRP.

i would get a few micro fibre cloths and a couple of drying towels. Excellent ones are:
    Sonus Der Wunder (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/microf...2/prod_84.html)
    PoorBoys Waffle Weave (http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb123wash.html)
The drying towels will outlast your chamois by far and not cause scratches!
