    Windows tinted for PV

Never been a huge fan of tints as think they can make a car look cheap if done the wrong colour on certain cars. After my dad had his done I couldnt believe how much cooler it is in the car so decided to get mine done before PV.

They are very suttle with only a 57% tint, so its not that clear from the photos but I think they look great. so what you all think?

I think it looks fab.. I've been thinking of getting them done but a few people have told me that with the pattern on the sides of the front windows and all around on the back windows ( the black spots to stop the glass shattering) that you'd be able to see air bubbles there. How is that on your car? Also, I was told even though I only want a light smoke all around it would make the tints illegal as the coupe already has slight tints. Have you had any trouble?

    Thanks

Helen: you can tint what ever you like on the rear windows, the front windscreen cannot be tinted at all, at the fronts must still let 70% of light through. Unfortunately, the factory tint Vauxhall put in is already at the legal limit, so technically anything you put on the fronts makes it illegal.

That said I drove my old car for about 2 years with illegal tints and never got bothered once.

As for the bubbles around the black dots - I assume you mean the edges of the windows? You'lll never get the tint to sit 100% perfectly over those dots (the matrix they call it) but it's hardly noticeable unless your close up.

Oops, even after typing all that lot I still forgot to say how nice the car looks! Very nicely done and everything you've done works together pretty well imo. Liking the VXR in the background too.

It can cause a problem Helen, but if done right will look fine! I think all tints have a small amount of bubbles in them TBH. Mine do have a few bubbles but they need to settle & harden off before you can get the very small ones out.

As far as them being legal, the front windows are the only ones you have to worry about. They do leave the factory on the legal limit of 70% that’s why I’ve gone for a subtle tint so it doesn’t stand out!
