    Signum/Vectra 3.0 CDTI - any good?

Does anybody have any experience of the above engine?

Any good on fuel? What's it like in comparison to the 1.9 CDTI 150?

Also, is it an Isuzu unit as opposed to a Fiat collaboration - and does that mean servicing bits will be more expensive?

    BHP?

Heavy and not as good on fuel.

Nice enough engine I would personally stick with the 1.9 with a tuning box.

It may not be as good on fuel, but christ on a bike when they get moving they go like stink.

Post facelift signums dont have has much gear as the older signums, dont know how long gear like the fridge, rear tables and roof storage stayed on the spec list, but they where what made the signum cool but they ****ed it all off now plus if carrying more than 4 people regularly the vectra would be better as the middle seat is shit.

the late 2006/2007 spec Signum has the spec back
i would go for a elite as you get a lot more toys with this spec
i had a 1.9cdti a and would go for the V6 if i was going to get one again

I had the pleasure of driving Kitchpoo's Tuned 3.0 CDti V6 and it was lovely. Even in that massive bus of a signum. Accelerated without effort from about 30 in 6th gear! had about the same MPG on the trip computer as Danny's 1.9cdti auto vectra so they can't be that bad on fuel.

The 1.9 with a tuning box is more or less the same power/torque as the 3.0v6 in standard tune, but due to the way it dishes out the power the gearbox takes a beating. Also loads of faults with the 1.9 compared to the 3.0. Turbos, swirl valves...... the list goes on. A standard V6 will out perform a boxed 1.9 in reliability all year long. Remap a v6 and 450+ lb/ft torque and 220bhp. A box for the 1.9 can be picked up for about £70 too!

MPG wise the 1.9 average 45+, my 3.0 gets 36/37 mainly town traffic, on a long run i'll get 42+ mpg.

Also the 1.9 is gutless - IMO - below 1500 rpm where as the v6 will pull from 900rpm in 5th/6th gear! The 1.9 drives more like a petrol than the v6.
Best way to find out is to test drive one of each and see what you like.
Oh and I think the 3.0V6 is the most expensive engine in the range to service. 7 litres of oil and as said before £30 for an oil filter, but on the flex servicing 30000 miles or 2 years between services if you wanted too.

Visit www.vectra-c.com and look/search for any info - power, probs, specs etc.

The V6 is the best engine in the Vauxhall lineup. It got a power hike this year, up to 185hp as standard now. Plus it sounds fantastic.

Been looking at 2.0DTi or 2.2DTi Signum's lately. did a rough insurance quote and it'll cost me the same for a 2.2 as i'm paying for my astra now
