    Turbo timer

I have been advised by a Vauxhall technician that the best mod that I can do to my newish vxr (about 1350 miles) is to fit a turbo timer. Can anyone advise where to purchase one and are they easy enough to fit? Thanks

No need, just drive slower towards the end of your journey, and let the car idle for 30secs-1min instead. Waste of £100 imo

I believe that turbo timers can also invalidate your insurance policy, I dont know how true it is but certainly something you should look into before parting with money.

Thanks guys, I know it's a vxr( if it's a performance car- give it wellie) but as it's still quite new I do tend to pussyfoot it somewhat My days of flooring it have passed me by now , I tend to drive conseratively now anyway. I think I will take the advice of LordNikon (do I detect a camera addiction here) and save myself some cash! Thanks for all your replies, it's very much appreciated.

i knew you'd get one rich, i thought that was you i seen coming out of work the other day.

if you decide to go for one, they a piece of cake to fit, as long as you got a multi meter, done mine in about 2 hours. the hardest bit is getting to the wires. assuming they similar to the mk4 that is.

if you want any help just pm me mate.

Joe - I'm going to be researching this over the winter - The Mk5 has all that CANBUS stuff on it and it may well be a right pain to fit, but if it goes on I'll do a how to!

It was a good idea on my Mk 4 SRi Turbo and it's well worth putting on the VXR
