    2.2 engine conversion

What is involved in this? Can somebody list all the parts I would need? My car is currently 4 stud so I would probably get 4 stud brakes etc from the Redtop engines.

Mate i would say dont bother and just buy a 2.2. The Amount of £££ it will cost it will work out cheaper to buy one
THE STATEMENTS MADE ABOVE ARE MERELY MY OPINION AND SHOULD NOT BE INTERPRETED AS STATEMENTS OF FACT UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED

If you have modded the interior/exterior a lot and don't want to have to do it again then go for it.

I would personally go with a 2.5/2.6 V6(Vectra). But the Z22 (Mk4 Astra) or a LET/LEH turbo(Mk4/5 Astra) will both be very good - the Z22 is almost as tuneable as a Turbo.

If your car is currently nearly standard, then just sell up and get a bigger engined Astra.

How much is involved in a V6 conversion? If I bought a vectra V6, is it fairly simple to swap over? Whats best the 2.5 or 2.6?
Sold my Astra to buy a house.

    Now drive a 205 GTI 2.0 16v

I doubt there's much in it tbh. I would just look at all Veccy V6's, and wait til I found one that had a good/semi-good engine.

I'm not doing it though, I said "IF". Norm29 swapped a 1.4 for a Z20LET on his own with very little previous mechanical experience. I'm sure if you take your time and are willing to invest in the right tools and read a lot and aren't afraid to seek advice or pay a garage to set it up once finished then it wouldn't be too hard.

    1.6 ill have you know

next car is a modded mk4 estate with a 2.2 conversion. that would be straight forward enough if you started with a big block for the brakes etc

the 2.5 v6. The 2.6 is not a nice engine to work on....... also has problems with the oil cooler.
