Free weekend calls (not sure how this works)

    Smile I have Tiscali Option Two/2Mb B.Band!

I haven't ever had any problems with Tiscali Option Two/2Mb package.

In fact I specifically chose them for the points you mentioned already (with the exception of the free calls). To get free calls you have to sign up to their telecoms package, but I didn't want this so just got the £14.99 unlimited 2Mb package.

I'm sure you can see my site usage is high, I am basically on & off the internet all the time. Tiscali operate a fair useage policy whereby they slow your connection if you use it excessively during peak periods, but TBH I use it all the time (last months downloads were IRO 100Gb) and I have never noticed it!

My mother in law is also signed up to Tiscali (albeit the 1MB package) and has been for about 3 years, and she never had any problems, not even when she moved house..

    hope this helps a bit

I'd suggest its a problem with either her computer or her phoneline not the provider

I'm with Homecall, now Pipex who just buy Tiscali's bandwidth and i have to agree with K&K, it's total schit!

It cut's off ALOT! and when you phone them up they get you to do the same check's everytime and once your though that, they say they'll look into it or it must be a problem with the line when it's clearly their fault.

The tend to over subscribe, and instead of having you on a 5-1 or 10-1 ratio your on a 100-1 ratio.

    Keep clear!

I have been with lineone which then was bought out by Tiscali since ive had the internet so almost 7 years now. I have never faulted Tiscali's broadband service.. im on the 2MB unlimited for £17.99 a month and use a wireless router and share it through the house.
Most of the problems people have are with the USB broadband modems which are supplied free are rubbish.. these are what cause the internet to drop out and cut off all the time. This is what my grandad had trouble with and he is with Tiscali, bought him a cheap modem/router (around £10 off ebay) and has not had a problem since. I think sometimes it depends on your area aswell...

I recon Sky is doing the best packages right now. Although TalkTalk is doing it very cheap with a phone package.

Personally I am with Orange as it came free with my mobile contract. I'm not that impressed though. Download speeds are poor compaired to my last provider.

For an extra £10 a month, you could get Zen Internet.

    http://www.zen.co.uk/Broadband/athome.aspx?page=455

I know it's only 20Gb download allowance, I download loads and never seem to hit the limit.

Draw backs are the activation fee and that you have to buy a modem or router as one isn't supplied.

    Good things are;

    Monthly contract
    No dropped connections
    Excellent CS
Easy access customer portal (to see tech details like how much you've D/L Up/L stuff like that.)

I'm with them and think they're great!!
