Angry 1.7 td low blow problems

first of all new to the site so hello all

    my problem is this

    i have a p reg astra 1.7td low blow astra estate .

if i keep the revs below 2 rpm then it behaves but if i raise the rpm to about 3 to 3.5 rpm the temp rockets up.

its ad a new water pump , flushed out numerous times had a new thermostat (taken that out though to stop it blowing up)

on normal driving it drives fine but if i go on a motorway thats when it rises .

plan to do the head gasket this weekend see if that sorts it , but if any off you have experiensed the same thing and no of anything else it could be then i would be gratefull to hear from you

hope you can help me out .

Friend of mine has the same engine in his mk3 van.
His keeps rocketing the temperature up he says, and he says the headgasket needs doing on his.
Not entirely sure that his statement is correct, but if you are planning to do the head regardless...then give it a go.

mine does it too but the head gasket is fine. It's just because the engine get really hot when its working its guts off co, lets face it, it's not the fastest engine in the world. The way I cure it is open the windows and put the heaters on, then the temp drops right down.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

i have replaced the head gasket and put a new head on but it seems to have made it worse i now have water geting into the pistons makeing the car hard to start.

it never lost water before but now it does . just done a 300 mile round trip car drove great apart from loseing water .
