    Question Black Diamond brake discs???

Can anyone rate the Black Diamond brake discs?
Are these discs black and stay black - or just coated and the black will come away?
Anyone know the best price out there??

Id like to get a set to match with my black alloys. Im painting my calipers and drums black to hide them away. A set of the Black Diamond brake discs seems ideal if they stay black!

And while your here and Im being lazy - can anyone let me know the size of my front discs on my MK4 SXI TWINPORT 2003

Seein as u have 4 studs then youll have 256mm x 24mm discs up front on ur Z16XEP

Ive got these dinky little discs too and would love to upgrade to 308s but dont wanna arse about with a 5stud conversion of pay about £500 for a 4stud one....seeing as u wanna go the stealth route then maybe being slightly wanting in the size dept aint gonna be a problem.

As for the quality of BD discs - I cant comment Im afraid

There is however another option in Nitrac Black Phosphate finished discs (as currently used by the true oracle himself - Ffoeg) found here: http://www.nitrac.co.uk/index.htm

They can supply virtually any size/pcd combination so maybe worth enquiring - Geoff uses Mintex Extreme pads if im not mistaken so it maybe worthwhile upgrading to the best setup u can get whilst retaining the original size.

OR - just get some cheappie BD discs and be done with it!

The black won't stay on for long - friction between the pads and swept area will scuff it of in about 10 miles. However the coating on the non-swept area will last much longer, but it's only a rust preventaive and not permanent.

They are not alloy wheel cleaner proof too (smoothrite will be out soon )

I'm 99% sure that Nitrac use BD discs, and then give them their treatment.

...and I've got Mintex M1144's on the front, and softer Extremes on the back to preserve the bias. Close

well thats torn that idea! are there any discs made to be darker like black or gunmetal and STAY that colour. As ive got tiny silver discs and black alloys it all looks abit stupid. (why I didn't think of that!!!)

Jimmy: Ive got the exact same ones u posted in the link above - for the money u cant really go wrong. Im just running std Mintex pads so Im sure with uprated pads they'll be even better.

A few ppl on here have used those mtec discs over the years and were well impressed with the quality - especially for the price.

They arent black though???? So much for the stealth look
