    Using A/C cuts engine out

    As the title really guys.

Just popped the A/C on for a minute today and when I came upto a round-a-bout, dropped the clutch and engine cut out.

Car details are in my sig.

I haven't used the A/C for months until today. Recently had my EGR valve cleaned and ECU re-mapped/re-programmed, wondered if that could be it?

Really at a loss with this one.

So whenever you switch your AC on with the engine idling it cuts out? If so then it probably points towards a siezing Ac compressor

yup thats what mine done mate, ended up having to get a new compressor, plus the guy who installed it told me the way to stop it doing it in the future is to use it at least once a week, even in winter!!

I keep reading and hearing that you should use the A/C all year round. Like once a week or something. I never use it.

I wish I had warrenty still. Is is quite an expensive job? I will most likely get it serviced and re-gassed, really a good going over so it will be back to tip-top shape at the same time.
