Falklands 25th Anniversary Exhibition - My Dads Involvement..

Now for your viewing on the IWM's website.

    Clicky Me!!

If you scroll along on the timeline to the 28th May and Click on Lt Richard Nunn's Piccy (Guy on the left) you will be able to hear and read my dads experiance on that day.

This is the first time I've heard my dad speak about it and it certainly did choke me up a bit.

On a lighter note, my dad went down to see Mrs Thatcher today, and a very pleasent lady she was too by all accounts.

People who've been through things like that generally don't like to talk about it.

    You should be proud mate.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

One of the proudest moments came when he recvieved a letter in 2005 asking if he would like to be a Member of the British Empire...

Later on that year we went to Buckingham palace and he recieved his MBE!!

My Dad was a Chief Petty Officer on HMS Hecla during the Falklands war. Hecla was a Hydrographic Survey ship in peace time and coverted to a floating hospital during the Flaklands. They were responsible for treating and getting a lot of the injured back to the mainland.

Can't believe it's been 25 years already. I remember Dad coming home in '82!
