    Domestic Violence

Been sitting in this waiting area for 40mins now and theres a poster on the wall opposite which reads, and i quote:

"Violence against women and children is a crime"

Agreed, it then lists the type of violence, everything from murder to rape.

But. . . . What about violence against men eh? In this politically correct world, you'd expect a government campaign poster not to be sexist. If it was the other way around womens right activists would be making alot of noise about it.

Im not that fussed really, just found it interesting. Whats your view?

I think the statistics show its far more likely to be the other way round.

I remember a starlting figure the govmt published about how many men are actually abused at home by their partners. Its actually quite high especially when you compare it to women suffering abuse.

But your right Scott not that it bothers me at all that men haven't been listed.
    Its a jam thing

I agree with Marky its more likely to be the other way around. However, no one should have to put up with being in an abusive relationship, regardless of gender.

I got mental abuse (if thats something that exists) from a previous g/f and I tell you it wasnt nice.

I partially disagree, i think its more likely that women report it. How many men would go to the cops and say 'my wife beats me up'?

very true in one way, they may not for fear of being laughed at?

but on the other hand.. how many women DONT report it for fear of more trouble.. its a bit of an endless vicious cycle really, and mega disagree and think its totally wrong about women getting beaten up.

A good story to cheer some up..

About 8 years ago i went on holiday, was parked up eating some fish an chips and these 2 girls and a bloke came out of a club, the bloke started shouting and pushing this girl, so me and my dad got ready to get out just incase, anyway, he hit her, so we jumped out the car to go over, then this bloke starts going, "hit me", "hit me" to this girl..

    what happened next..

she hit him so hard he hit the deck like a ton of bricks.. one up for women beatings
