Just done timing belt ,tensioner etc and...

Was wondering if this was okay,

Fitted the water pump/belt tenisoner, rollers etc

Once everything was okay timing wise i nipped the tensioner up slightly more than the V, talking three mil more nothing excessive,

Once i done my hand cranking and put everything back together it is now a couple of mm s the other way, pointing towards the "change belt way"!

This should not make any difference should it?

    cheers
    Andy

I wouldn't leave it like that.

The whole point of doing the hand cranking is to get all the tensions correct - just re-adjust the tensioner to the correct position, hand crank again and recheck tensioner and line-up marks.

You don't want to leave it like that, you may well be advancing the timing, not 100% but you could be.

The pointer will move back and forth as you turn it, but once it's back at the 3 timing marks then it should be back on the new belt marker.
