    Drivers Seat Not Lowering...

My dad has recently got himself a Mk4 AstraG 1.4LS Estate. Having owned an AstraG for nearly four years now I'm used to how low and high the driver's seat can be adjusted, but recently got into my dad's car and I couldn't lower the drivers seat much - to the point where I felt like I was sitting on stilts in the car...

Now I know my old car (SRi) had the sports seats and may have had more adjustment, but the ones in this LS only have about two or three clicks on the height adjust handle and not a wide range of height adjustment... Is this normal or is there something wrong with the seat, and if so, any ideas as to what it could be?? I've looked carefully under the seat and around the mechanisms I can see and I cant see anything blocking the movement of the seat... I know its hard without seeing the seat but has anyone got any ideas as to what it may be??

    Cheers,

    Dave

I don't think there's any difference, in this respect, between normal and sports seats - there should be about 14 "clicks" of the lever.

It sounds like something underneath is jamming the mechanism.

If he needs a new seat - let me know. Ive got a pair of front seats from an LS that are surplus to requirments.
