    push bike RR

sat in work and very bored and was thinking about rolling roads, then i thought hmm i wonder what i cud do with my bike. 1st thought was wud it be possible to strap the bike down and peddel away 2nd thought was what power wud i get lol from huge pistons i call my quads.

when im doing a leg work out at gym i get 7 red plates a side on the 45degree push, which works out to 500kg leg press. im not a small bloke if u havnt guessed yet lol plus i cycle hell of a lot and half calves the size of a small bull. i recon i cud beat a saxo off the line :P

You see what the civil service drives you to........

well if you think your legs are as strong as a hourse pulling a ton whight (i think thats what it is) then the bike power will be your power so 1 BHP

    if that makes any sence!!!!!!!

your power out put will be minimal but then again compared to a car your weight will be next to nothing. work out how many bhp per ton and you will find out if you have a chance. I say you might over 5-10 metres, but don't forget car's don't get knackered

Having seen the way a lot of people drive round my way I think you would be surprised how many you could give a scare to

I assume the machine you are referring to in the gym is an incline leg extension as well

the torque you produce will be more than a car but the rpm which gives the power will mean the car would beat u. Also in the power to weight, you would weigh ~100kg's with bike, a saxo would weigh max 1ton, it produces 100bhp (vtr) you produce ~1 or 2 bhp.
Also dont forget cars have gears which act as torque multipliers. You do too but their revs can use them more effectively. My opinion is that a car would win even over 10 metres.

I've seen a comparison like this somewhere before, but can't recall where.

They did a standing start race between a runner, a cyclist and a car.
Over 1m it was runner 1st, cyclist 2nd, car last
Over 10m it was cyclist 1st, runner 2nd, car last
Over 15m it was car first, cyclist 2nd, runner last.

I'm thinking that on a RR you'd be lucky to get 1bhp!!
    0-60 in 6.5 secs and 48mpg- winner!
