The bump strips or Side moldings on the astra H are only stuck on with adhesive, you will need a little bit of Patience but if you get a hair dryer and some fishing wire (or similar) you will be able to peal them off slowly

Once they off completely get some tar remover like Autogylm intensive Tar remover and remove all the old glue from the paint work, then give it awash and a polish

Can you take pics for us for a how to? You will get full credit on the main site

    Right Ok here we go.

This was done on a 5 door hatchback but i'm sure its the same concept as a 3 door and a estate.

    Utensils:

    1x Hair Dryer
    1x Bug & Tar Remover
1x Kitchen Roll (or cloth etc)
1x OLD Bank Card (or you could use fishing wire etc)
    1x Elbow Grease

First Apply heat to the edge of the bumper

The ends have the most glue but a bit of patience and you'll be on your way.

After you have pealed some of the end away, constantly apply heat and pull the bumper stip of but not too hard as all the glue wont come off in one

Once you get to the end give it a quick heat and it should just pull of.. easy

Now you should be left with big dirty mark on your car
Quick Spray of the bug and tar remover, then rub off with kitchen roll.

    Before:

    During:

    After:

    Lovely

Now repeat for all the other strips!

Shocking how dirty they were likes

    Anyway 10 mins later....

    Before:

    After:

    Thanks

    Looks much better off

Could the same ones be replaced if needed, or are they knackered during removal?

Yeah there is like a metal strip i think that runs through the bumper strips so once you take it off you better off getting new ones.

That is what i was going to do (take them off, get new ones primed and painted and put new ones on but i like them off.
