    My Gsi figures for you

As the weathers been hot and traction has been good i've been out playing. ( on private property of course)

Let see how we all compare.

0-60 with max grip 5.9 secs 6.1 with tiny wheelspin
    50 - 70 in third gear 3.3 secs
60-100 in forth gear 8.5 secs
    60-100 in 5th gear 9.8
    0-100 in 15secs
Just as a comparison the Focus RS does 60 - 100 in forth gear in 9.8 secs.

    So im well chuffed.

Would be interested in seeing what you guys get especially the 260 bhp upwards chaps.

All reading done using onbard stopwatch on multi function screen which i always made sure needle was over speed before stopping.

... Well thats a very innacurate way to time something so I wouldnt bother comparing to any car thats been timed properly.

cant see it being that far out. time is time no matter which way u measure it. true its not gonna be santa pod accurate but the higher gear times will be more accurate as im not changing gear and looking at speedo and thinking bout stopping the clock lol. try it not as easy as it seems.

I use my onboard clock for time tests as well. It gives a rough indication to your perfomance.
Try timing the more commonly used 30-70 thru the gears test.
Also the 30-50 (done in 4th) and 50-70 (done in 4th+5th).
These are more common in car mags testings for comparison.
In theory since speedos read high, an accurate measurement will bring better results.

No because if you think your doing 100mph and your only actually doing 95, it will make the results worse if accurate as it will take an extra 5mph to get 100 than it does when using the speedo.

But the whole it isn't accurate argument is pointless anyway, because it will be over reading when at 50 and then over reading at 70, so they will almost completely cancel each other out, just means your maybe doing a 46-65mph test instead of 50-70

My speedo is 2mph out exactly, through the entire range. I know this because i have a sat nav which gives speed and at 140 mph on the speedo the sat nav said 138. Same is true at 30 i was doin 28. So im prob doin 48-68. As for the accuracy for using on board stop watch, when i first got my gsi we all know the 0-60 is 7secs. I timed myself using the onboard clock a got 7.1 so if we say its 0.1 secs out then there still impressive figures i think.
