    Central Locking remote control issue

    Hi,

I recently bought from ebay.de a remote control for central locking for my mk3 (F , ’92). Price was low (about 20quids) and was really excited!!

    http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...rchQ3aDEQQfviZ

In the auction description, seller mentions that instructions and diagrams will be included, but what I got was not that explanatory. Using google, some results came up –got links (http://www.baunsal-tuning.de/forum/index.php?c=2) from the forum of the seller… unfortunately EVERYTHING is in german and alta-vista doesn’t quite help.

Anyway, here is the diagram that I got.

Not so descriptive and I don’t even have a clue in which category my mk3 belongs to (with lock motor on driver’s side door OR not or with control switch on driver’s side).

The question is how I am going to connect all these wires (of remote control) to the ECU (IF I have to…), since I have no idea about its wiring (also checked Haynes).

    Any help will be appreciated

    Thanks!!

Your right mate those instructions aren't very clear

Your working with the top diagram where the yellow and yellow/black wire will go to earth as thats what the common wire is on your vauxhall

Blue is your lock pulse which will connect to a brown/red on your car and green is unlock so connect to the brown/white wire on your car

The grey and the brown isn't needed to cut off and tape up making sure it doesn't touch anything else

Anything else your need help with?

    Hi Auto,

thanks for the prompt reply! That is some info! A step further!!

Also, i am constantly searching over the net. i found this

    http://www.baunsal-tuning.de/catalog...-gesteuert.pdf

using alta-vista, it seems that i don't have to 'fix' anything to ecu, which makes things much easier.

now, i have to look for the cables for lamps. Any clue on that (color/place?)

It looks to me like you have 2 wires for the parking lamps so why not connect to the indcators instead? The colours for those are Black/green and black/white and its probably best to get them at the steering column

That's great Auto!! i hope it's easy to locate these wires, but definitely it worths a try!

Just one more question, as i am not familiar with terminology.

In your first post, u said "Your working with the top diagram where the yellow and yellow/black wire will go to earth as thats what the common wire is on your vauxhall"

Earth is ground, isn't it? which means that yellow and y/b should go to positive pole (+12) ? or am i confusing something here???

Earth is ground yes....... positive is +12v, both totally different so yes your confussing things

Just connect it to the same place as the black wire from the remote unit

As for finding these wires I said where to connect the indicators and the locking wires canbe found in the drivers kickpanel where you will find the central locking ECU
