    Help desperatley needed ASAP

    Guys,

    I have a sony F7500 CD Player and have put it in my 2001 astra sxi, but everytime i turn the ignition off and take the key out the cd players looses all of its memory, stored stations etc...
    There must be a way around this surley, someone please help and tell me what to do?

    not sure if it is the same as the kenwood but there are 2 types of live wires one holds the memory for the stations and is for the ignition (i think) but with the Kenwood stereo's they have another wiring loom that attaches to the original and you have to switch the red and yellow wires around.

    not sure if this is the same in your case but if you got another wiring loom with the Sony and it has these colour wires on it with bullett connectors that may be your problem.

    Yes turbo cabby is right. You have the switched live (ignition live) and constant live the wrong way around I recon.
    One must be fed power even with the key out to retain your settings. The other is to turn the HU off when you remove the key (ignition live).

    Yuo can also just swap the two wires round and then save money on the loom.

    Can't say at the mo as I'm at work but instruction manual & Haynes should be able to sort you out if you have access to them?

    because i havent messed around with any wire since the cd player arrived in box, should i try and swap the sony red & yellow wires around on its wiring loom

    as stated above both yellows should go into the red terminals

    So on the wiring loom change the posistions of the red and yellow wires and put them where opposite came out of? Sorry to keep asking but it will be my first time doing this.

    yep so it should be 1x red & yellow and 1x red & yellow.
