Quick Boost gauge question... (plumbing in)

Currently have mine connected to the FPR and it seems to work within its capabilities OK, but read on ZLET.co.uk about fitting the turbo timer (which is also a boost gauge) and they say to take the boost reading from the induction manifoild?!

Is it a case of 'It works on either' or is one better than the other?

Bit confused as to where that pic is?
