    Need advice. induction kit problems?

I have recently put a c20xe (redtop calibra) engine into my mk3 astra, every now and then it wants to cut out, thought it was my air idle speed control device at first.
I was looking through total vauxhall magazine and I saw that the c20xe engine doesnt like induction kits and causes the engine to cut out.
Has anyone else had this problem? and did a sports panel filter sort this out?
Dont want to spend out on filter and box unless I need to, I havent had the induction kit long.

I suspect the cutting out has nothing to do with the ind kit but is something more sinister.

The reason 16v engines dont tend to act well with ind kits (or at least open cone type kits) is that they suffer from the dreaded heat soak due to the lack of shielding around the filter. This usually affects performance levels but Id seriously doubt its causing ur running issues.

Id suggest giving the throttle body, ICV and associated components a good clean with carb cleaner and see if this helps matters.

Could be a few other components such as AFM but Id give the above a clean and take it from there.

Good luck and keep us posted

The cutting out will be another problem. Under what conditions is the car cutting out.

p.s. induction kits are shite, get a standard airbox in there, de-restrict it and stick a decent panle filter in it.
