    Anyone noticed the deliberate mistake?

Next time you're watching TV, keep an eye out for the new Astra GTC ad. It's the one where the guy stops and gets out, and pushes the picture from widescreen letterbox style to normal.

There's a glaring mistake. Anorak award to anyone who can spot it.

Is it that it was originally shot for Opel (left hooker) and then swapped for Vauxhall?

jam gets the award - it's an Opel flipped with Vauxhall bits editted on. The exhaust being on the wrong side was the big give-away for me.

Claire, the GTC is the new Astra with the glass roof.

Correct. The GTC was actually a special edition (500 produced) that was launched before the panoramic windscreen became an £850 option on all sport hatches.

As I recall it wasn't bad value, as it was a little bit cheaper than the 1.8 SRi, but you got the panoramic screen and a few other extras as well

I presume the name came from Opel's original GTC (Gran Turismo Compact) concept car, as that featured a tinted glass roof (though that went all the way to the back of the car)

Apparently it's only a couple of hundred more to replace than a regular windscreen. It's also made from laminated safety glass that's 20% thicker, so it's a bit tougher too
