Finally got all the bits for a traction control switch...

....but now what, I've had a read through the "how to" and it all seems straight forward apart from which pin to use, 25 or 31, its an astra coupe (51 reg) 1.8i SE1, or so the book says, how do I find out if the cars got ESP?

    Cheers

if one pin has a wire in it u use the other from memory - hence the choice of the 2

Probably pin 31 as I doubt you'll have ESP in your 1,8

The Astra tends to come with wires for things that you don't even have.

For example, under my TC switch, I have wiring there for Heated Seats, but I don't have heated seats.
I also have wiring for an in-car telephone system, which again, I don't have.

So, you may find you have wires in places & they don't connect to anything, or some wires in the multi-plugs seem unused.

This can be confusing, but is a big plus point for future upgrades.

Ffoeg's answer sounds good to me though.

I'm fairly certain that one of the differences between the SE1 and SE2 coupe was that the SE2's had ESP and the SE1's didn't
