iiirc the insurance group for the turbo is 15, and the only way to find out if you can get insured on it, is to phone some insurance companys.

    Try Adrian Flux.

do a seach for insurance and turbo, there is loads of threads on this topic,
you will be able to get insured is the general rule, but a SRi-T would be cheaper in 99% of cases, i pay £1000 for my sri-t and i was 20 with 3 years NCB when i got it,

Are you sure you have 3 years ncb if you've been on your dads? You may not have claimed in three years but thats not necessarily 3 years NCB.

I'm 21 this year, and my insurance on my own with a GSi, 2 years NCB will be a grand.

goto parkers.co.uk that will give you all the details. But yes it is 15. most ppl wont touch you till your over 20. Or it'l massively high. Im paying 630 with direct line. Im 23 next month and made 2 claims in last 2 yrs (thefts) but have 6yrs NCB.

so your paying £1200 a year on a 1.8 on your dads policy with 3 years NCB????

where the hell do you live.........i would expect it to be less than that in your own name,

your problem is going to be then you dont have any NCB at all unless you stay with direct line,
no companies that will quote you on a turbo will take into account NCB you have as a named driver, only way you'll get that is stay with direct line,

so tbh i think youll be looking at a hell of alot to insure one without NCB in your own name,

i have just renewed my insurance on my 1.8sri and it was £560 with 3 years ncb on my own policy.

i insured my sri-t back in december with 3 years ncb for £800 on my own policy again!

i think you have been ripped off with your coupe to be honest mate!
