    Unhappy AFM number 4 gone,on way 2 gosport/fareham(help)

FFS this is 4th afm to go in 6months,there has 2 be some issue im not aware of.
was off to pmcc at newgate ind est to get my fmic fitted properly, wen just came of m27 and bang accelated(only doing 40 odd) then was power loss,so kept under 3k rev until i got to pmcc, luckily theres a vaux at newgate area so popped over as still had receipt from wen i bought the AFM 2 months ago. guy said pop it in 2moz and will have a look, and if it is AFM will fix under warrenty.

but why is this always happening,i guess wouldnt be a short as would happen near enuff everytime wen i fit a new one, maybe oil from pipercross panel filter maybe?

any other poss reasons? as i need 2 sort this out b4 a remap.

    need ya help guys plz

if you think it might be the oil from your panel filter, put the paper one back in for a few months and see how it goes...

4 afms is a joke, not a single one has had a problem here in australia, i wonder if the colder environment has anything to do with it...

oil from the filter in my opinion - oil sticks to the afm's elements from what i have read - still on the original 888 filter and never had and afm issue - but i have never re oiled it

It will be oil on your pipercross, take it off and put the original filter back on. My AFM failed when I used an oiled foam Ramair panel filter.

If you like the sound of the pipercross then get an Apexi cone filter, they are made from paper and don't need oiling.
