    The 2.2 engine

I recently bought a 2.2 Coupe and just wondered if the engine is exactly the same as that in the SRi?

Also what are the true 0-60 times of the coupe and top speed?

    Yes.

Depends where you look, generally 8.5 to 60 and 135 top speed.

Go to www.z22se.co.uk for all your 2.2 needs, very informative site for 2.2 engine owners.

I dont like to p*ss on anyones fire especially as youve just brought one of the best engines Vxl have ever made but you must check out the cam chain section to ensure yours has the upgraded chain and oil nozle. Now I hear you shaking in your boots but believe me it could end up costing you your engine. Mine nearly died but many others have not been so lucky.

Unfortunatley VX never 'made' the engine - they were made in Germany for the European market

Autocar measured the 0-60 at 8.3s and 134 top speed.

The 2.2 hatch would be marginally quicker 0-60 due to the coupe being about 80kg heavier.

...but the coupe has slighty better aerodynamics than the hatch - 0.28 as opposed to 0.30 so that counters the weight difference

According to my GPS, my Z18XE engine does 136mph, with only a full exhaust system and modified air intake?

Surely the z22se can do more?

    Why?

It only has 145bhp (give or take) and isnt the weight of a Nova.
