    Post oil on dump valve

    hello
    i picked up my astra gsi today , i drove away for the dealer and put my foot down wee hee !! ........music to my ears! then i heard a dump valve go off i thought thats abit loud for a standard 1 so i pulled over and opened the bonnet and to my surprise its got a baileys dv and a power pipe
    the thing is the was oil on the dump dv, what could this be?

    take off the power pipe and check for oil.... if there's loads then take it straight back to the dealers for a new turbo

    my dv was covered in oil t'other day, but not much in powerpipe and has been fine since I cleaned it up, clean it up, and keep an eye on it, if car keeps drinking oil it could be turbo issues, or possibly just the oil used is tooo thin.

    Alot of people on here say worst case scenarios and to a new owner can be a bit of a bummer

    yeah i just thought it was a blue hose and the dv is hidden down the back, never mind it has saved me a few quid from buying 1 although this 1 is blue and i want a shiney 1

    ok thanks mate and thanks every1 for the help! will check my power pipe tomorrow and let you know

    Should the DV not be situated above the engine so gravity doesn't let oil build up at it? (i.e. the t piece near the throttle bodie and turned at an angle)

    well thats what i thought, im gonna get a new power pipe any way and sell this 1
