    Simple fix?

Should be picking up the new Zaf Monday all being well, but it has a slight problem, the mileage displays packed up, just displays ------- however trip is fine, is it going to be a cheap or expensive fix?

Please be gentle I won't be happy if we've bought a lemon!

sounds like the dash is faulty but to shor idd make an apotment with the garage that has and nos there way round a tec2 you can talk to the dash with it so you should find a fault code or do a live dater test down the road

A trip to the dealer is something could do without! I have an aversion to paying them for doing anything! The actual display works fine, as if you hold in the reset button and switch ign on to reset the INSP light, then switch it off and back on it comes up with a load of digits fine, just otherwise all I get is this

It's done about 142,000 going by history in folder, and it's 1999 V reg.

Wonder if father in law would miss his clocks for us to try....

And, you should also know if you haven't taken a zaff dash apart before, get ready for some fun as I had to take my steering coloumn apart and the indicator stalks off just to get the trim off the dash so I could remove the tacho unit. I suppose most of the time I spent doing it was fiddling and pulling as I did it without a how to or anything and was just pulling on bits until it came out. I did my dash LED upgrades before I joined here.

It's a 1.8, outlaws is a 1.6, both V reg, and as for dashes no bother, I'm used to ripping them out to fit later ones in Rovers.
