Its easier to change the whole hub as the wheel bearing are forced in.

    Where abouts is Ayr?

Ayr is in Scotland. West coast if I'm not mistaken.

Generally you buy the whole hub on an Astra. Replacing just the bearing is difficult at best, a *uckup at worst.

I changed my whole rear hub and it was easy with the help of a haynes manual, so like said above i would change the whole lot. (if not i think you need a special tool to get the bearing out of the hub (someone correct me if i am wrong))

change the whole hub so much easier as the bearings are pressed in with such a high force.
not worth the argro changing the hub is a 10min job

The link u posted is over priced.

Brand new hub assemblies for your car (5stud, ABS etc) generally can be had for £65 delivered

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Hub-A...QQcmdZViewItem

(Autovaux also sell them for the same price if anyone is wondering)

Vauxhall main dealers charge approx £200 for the same part!!!!

If ur quick.....theres a brand new hub on auction format on ebay and if ur lucky could be one hell of a bargain.
    Here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vauxhall-astra...QQcmdZViewItem

All the above links refer to the correct part number for all 5stud models being 9117622

**It really is a doddle to change - if u havent already got one - get a Haynes manual, some axle stands, a trolley jack and the basics.... the price of all these together with the hub assembly will all come in at less than the stealers would charge for just the hub...it'll also stand u in good stead for plenty of DIY mechanics in the future.
