Ive jus bought a new Sony X-Plod GT310 cd player which has the interface adaptor for use with the iPod. Ive installed the head unit but the adaptor is quite big, (a bit bigger than a pkt of fags) and has jack leads and a rather large power cable and im struggling to find somewhere to put it. Ive got a mk4 and there doesnt seem to be much room behind the head unit. Has anybody else got this head unit and do we have any ideas for install?
How about cutting a hole in your glove box its right next to it and its huge plus when travelling you can keep your ipod out of site. When in a nasty area you can leave it in there so no one knows anything and just thinks you have only a head unit.
There right next to one another so cable length shouldn't be an issue. Just remove 6 torx screws and pull glove box forward and out. Becareful of the wire attached to the light which is for the glove box when removing (nearest the drivers side).
Hope that helps? Welcome to AS/AOC any pics of your car?

There's loads of room to drop a box that side into the centre console below the ash tray
