    whats the best power cap?

Im looking into getting a power cap in the next few weeks and was wondering what the best one is to get. I want a good but cheap one with a l.e.d display on it.
    the system im running is.
    2 kenwood 12in subs 800w each
    kenwood 1000w 2ch amp
    kenwood 250w 2ch amp
    kenwood 200w 6x9s
    Kenwood 7534u headunit.

Plus how would they be installed aswell?

    thanks for any help given

and is it worth getting a split charge kit and a second battery, bearing in mind that i may not have the room to fit a second battery.

i take it what your stating are the max figurers the rms ones are the important ones and to answer your question you dont need one they do no good just do the big three(bat-chassie engine-chassie alternator-battery you probly wont do the last ive tried many times with no sucess) and if you still have problems put a bigger battery in the front

TBH powercaps draw mixed responses from people. I am entirely neutral on the subject and it is very much try, if you like then stick with it. What I will say it gives the bass a more punchy feel (quicker sounding) which is the way I tend to prefer things nowdays.

But having done a wee test a while back comparing different makes on the market there was little to choose between them. The Stinger, Batcap and Soundstream one's consistently performed well but again there performance was not massively better then the others on test. The best on test for value and performance was the Poweramper one that used to be stocked by Maplin (it is now branded Shark but really is the same). Again there was no massive margin by which was the best so any will do as long as it is not an ebay special, (these have terrible failure rates as 2/4 failed to even work with the third failing with spectacular fashion during testing).

I'm sure people have fitted optima batteries to their MK4's before but beware that the battery terminals are the other way round to the vauxhall

Sure you can get them cheaper than that
